Mr. Wilson's 4th Grade students designed, created, and tested Pin Wheels with this lab. The students had fun and learned about Renewable Energy.

SES rolled out the red carpet yesterday as our fourth graders celebrated winning the first 10 to Win Attendance Challenge!

After achieving 10 days of 100% grade-level attendance, students earned the opportunity to choose their celebration, and they chose VIP recess!

Our fourth grade VIPs made their grand entrance down the red carpet, complete with sunglasses, music and their very own photo opportunities. The celebration continued with kickball, basketball, volleyball, dancing and plenty of playground fun!

One of the most exciting parts of the day was seeing the enthusiasm spread through the school. Students from other grade levels were already asking how they could earn their own VIP experience!

The goal of our attendance initiatives is about more than improving numbers. It's about creating an environment where students feel connected, celebrated, and excited to show up every day.

Yesterday was a reminder of just how meaningful those moments can be.

Congratulations, Mia Rosenlieb, for winning the State Fire Safety poster contest! Students all over the State entered drawings about fire prevention. Mia was chosen for her "Grill Smart from the Start" entry. She received a visit from Kenneth E Tyree Jr, the State Fire Marshall himself. Mr. Tyree presented Mia with a framed copy of her poster, a plaque & a certificate from the governor. Congratulations, Mia! We are so proud of you!

We would like to congratulate Wesson Berdine, Easton & Ember Smith on winning the "Live Substance Free" billboard art contest. Tyler County Prevention Coalition presented the winners with a copy of their drawing, a certificate & a check for being chosen. Their artwork will be shown on a billboard to encourage all of us to live drug free. Congratulations, Easton, Wesson & Emer! We are so proud of you!

Caffeinated Chaos popped in SES this morning to give staff an extra boost. Check them out if you haven't already. Everything was delicious!

Character Counts! is next week, Oct. 19-23, 2026. Every day is a different color & theme. Always remember that together we make a difference!

Individual picture day will be October 21, 2026. Please make checks payable to "Picture This Photography". All students will have their picture taken on this day for the yearbook.

Students in Mr. Wilson's 4th Grade class discussed the positive and negative impacts on the environment associated with building a Hydropower Plant. This was a four corners lab investigating the impacts on wildlife, land use, mining, and water usage.

Students can buy lunch bunch tickets each Fun Friday with the Squire Cash they earn each week. They each have a job working for Squire Inc. They get to have lunch with Mr. Wilson. This week we are watching the dramatic conclusion of Race for your Life Charlie Brown. 

Mr. Wilson's 4th Grade started Chapter 2 with a lab using 4 stations to represent different forms of energy.

Homecoming is this Friday! SES is having a Knights Spirit Day & students are welcome to wear their Knights apparel (grey, royal blue & black) to support our football team, cheerleaders & band for the Homecoming game. #KnightsPride

Mr. Wilson had a packed house for 4th grade breakfast club this morning. Students worked on math skills and can win prizes for achievement in iReady Math.
