Today at TCHS, senior students participated in "Mad City Money." During the event, students get hands-on experience with money management skills and a taste of the real world by selecting housing, transportation, food, clothing, child care, debt/savings management, and unexpected expenses. Thank you to the West Virginia Central Credit Union, Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union, Mrs. Feldmeier, Mrs. Miller, and several other TCS staff members and TCHS teachers. Also a big thanks to Mrs. Williamson for organizing such a great event! #KnightsPride

The freshmen class battled for the best poem during a March Madness Poetry Tournament. They began with 64 poems, chiseling them down by gut instinct to the Sweet 16. Students wrote poetry analyses and arguments to whittle them down to the Elite Eight and then the Final Four. Tensions rose between whether Robert Frost’s “Nothing Gold Can Stay”, Tupac Shakur’s “The Rose That Grew from the Concrete”, Kobe Bryant’s “Dear Basketball”, and Geraldine Connolly’s “The Summer I Turned Sixteen” would move to the championship round. Byant and Frost prevailed. Finally, in a nail-biting last round, Frost took the win by only four points. This tournament sparked a lot of conversation in the castle about poetry, and our hope is to have a tournament between all grade levels next year. Thank you to Ms. Schupbach for all her hard work in making this tournament possible! #KnightsPride
