Mr. Wilson's 4th Grade started Chapter 2 with a lab using 4 stations to represent different forms of energy.
Friday, October 9th will be a 2 hour early release day for students. Please make all necessary arrangements for your child/children to arrive home early on this day. Students will begin dismissing at 1:05 p.m. Parent pick up will begin at 1:20 p.m. in the cafeteria.
Homecoming is this Friday! SES is having a Knights Spirit Day & students are welcome to wear their Knights apparel (grey, royal blue & black) to support our football team, cheerleaders & band for the Homecoming game. #KnightsPride
Mr. Wilson had a packed house for 4th grade breakfast club this morning. Students worked on math skills and can win prizes for achievement in iReady Math.
Our students & staff had a wonderful time last Friday at the Harvest Festival. Thank you to all those involved for providing such an amazing experience that our students will remember for years to come.

Mrs. Lantz & Mrs. Kelley's Kindergarten class thought the pigs & bunnies at the Harvest Festival would make a cute pet for their room.

Fifth Grade enjoyed everything about the Harvest Festival. They loved experiencing parts of farm life as well as the bouncy houses & bubbles.

Congratulations to Mrs. Samuelson & Mrs. Brown's 2nd Grade class & Mr. Wilson's 4th Grade class on winning the September Attendance Challenge! Mrs. Samuelson's room finished the month with 96% attendance. Mr. Wilson's room finished with 96.1% attendance. We are so proud of you!

She is able to reply & enter excuses into our system from your text. Pictures of excuses may also be sent to 304-802-8073, which prevents them from getting lost or not turned in at all. Mr. Wilson's class reviewed cause and effect for Unit 1 Energy. Students recorded data on speed and distance relationships with dominoes.
Mr. Wilson's class participated in a speed and energy lab. The students worked cooperatively and used matchbox cars and rubber bands. They measured and recorded data on speed and energy as they reviewed the Unit 1 Energy chapter.
It's almost October, which means cooler weather & frosty mornings. October's lunch menu will warm our student's up & fill their bellies.
Mrs. Smith & Mrs. Nichols' 1st Grade class learned about Johnny Appleseed last week. They made apple volcanos, learned about the parts of an apple, did some apple tasting & used their experience in a graphing exercise.

Mrs. Weekley & Mrs. Morris' first graders enjoyed an engaging day of learning about Johnny Appleseed while making connections across multiple subject areas. Students explored his life and contributions through a variety of reading, writing, science, and social studies activities.
Throughout their learning, students strengthened their reading comprehension, practiced communicating their ideas through writing, explored the growth and life cycle of apple trees, and learned about life in the past and Johnny Appleseed’s place in American history.
They loved creating meaningful learning experiences that allow our students to make connections across subjects while having fun along the way! 🍎📚🌱✏️
